In the golden autumn season, a delegation of 33 teachers and students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore, visited our vocational and technical college for a student exchange program from September 18th to 27th.
At the welcoming ceremony, Vice President Xiao Qian introduced the basic situation and characteristics of our school to the delegation and expressed his hope that through study and exchange, teachers and students could share knowledge, broaden their horizons, enhance mutual understanding, and continuously improve their level of international communication. The director of the school office, the chief of the academic affairs section, the director of the electromechanical engineering department, the director of the manufacturing engineering department, the chief of the student affairs section, the secretary of the Youth League Committee, and the international exchange specialist were also in attendance.
Professional Learning
From September 20th to 24th, the electromechanical engineering department and the manufacturing engineering department carefully arranged professional courses for Singaporean students at various academic levels. Mr. Liu Wei from the manufacturing engineering department and Ms. Xie Zhenzhen from the electromechanical engineering department taught the courses Fundamentals of Additive Manufacturing Applications and Industrial Robot Teaching Programming in English for Singaporean students at the secondary vocational level. Meanwhile, Mr. Fu Fei from the manufacturing engineering department and Ms. Xie Zhenzhen also taught the courses Multi-Axis CNC Machining Technology and Fundamentals of Industrial Robot Technology in English for Singaporean students at the higher vocational level. The classroom atmosphere was active, with positive interactions between teachers and students. Through the close integration of theory and practice, the classroom was filled with a sense of achievement and joy.
At the same time, Tan Cho Beng, the project instructor for the TED Technical Engineer Program from Singapore, led his team to conduct in-depth project discussions and design exchanges with our school's 2025 TED project team teachers and students. This not only prepared well for the cooperative works of the two schools in the coming year but also forged deep friendships through continuous negotiations and exchanges.
School and Enterprise Visits
On the morning of September 25th, under the careful planning and arrangement of the school office, the Singaporean teacher-student delegation visited the Songjiang campus of Shanghai University of Engineering Science and Technology. In the mechanical innovation base, engine disassembly laboratory, and emergency evacuation simulation lab located in the training building, the visiting students deepened their understanding of engine structure and working principles, enhanced their safety awareness and crisis response capabilities. In the modern transportation building, they saw the No. 108 train, the simulated train operation control system sandbox, and the automotive innovation base for college students, which made them feel as if they were in a real rail transit environment. The innovative atmosphere and scientific research achievements here inspired them deeply.
In the afternoon, the visiting teachers and students toured Shanghai CHNT Electric Co., Ltd., located in Songjiang District, witnessing the modern and intelligent production lines and feeling the rapid development of China's manufacturing industry in the field of high technology. This visit not only broadened their international horizons but also stimulated their confidence and expectations for the development potential of China's industry, opening a new chapter for future academic exchanges and cooperation between the two schools.
Cultural Activities
Our school's Youth League Committee organized rich student exchange activities, sports events, and talent shows, providing students with opportunities to fully exchange and learn from each other's cultures. The campus was filled with youthful vitality and laughter from students of both schools. The guests visited the campus with great interest, attracted by the rich cultural construction and beautiful green scenery, and took photos for souvenirs from time to time.
On the morning of September 26th, the school held a farewell ceremony for the Singaporean ITE teacher-student delegation. Vice President Xiao Qian delivered a speech, congratulating the success of this international student exchange activity and wishing the cross-national friendship between the two schools would last forever.
The three team leaders of the Singaporean ITE teacher-student exchange team expressed their heartfelt thanks to our school for its warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements, hoping that the future exchanges and cooperation between the two schools could continue to consolidate the deep friendship and achieve fruitful results.
At the end of this exchange, Vice President Xiao Qian presented Exchange Learning Certificates to the visiting students, marking the successful conclusion of this teacher-student exchange program.
Our school has actively explored internationalized education and teaching methods. Since the cooperation between the two schools began in 2010, hundreds of teachers and students have participated in exchanges, and the two schools have established a stable partnership. Both sides expressed their willingness to continue deepening friendly cooperation, integrating the educational characteristics of both sides, and building a bridge for common progress.
