October 20th, 2023, SUES and FHGR held a meeting of the Joint Management Committee of Sino-Swiss Joint Program 2023. President Yu Tao, Vice President Xia Chunming, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Wang Qin, Dean of Higher Vocational and Technical College Zheng Shubin, Deputy Dean of Higher Vocational and Technical College Xiao Qian attended the meeting. The Swiss partner was attended by President Jurg Kessler, Director of International Cooperation Andreas Deuber, Director of Sino-Swiss Joint program Thuc Lan Tran.
This is the first onsite JMCM in four years. President Yu Tao and President Jurg Kessler expressed cordial greetings to the members of the Management Committee and colleagues of both sides. President Yu pointed out that this year marks the 45th anniversary of SUES and the 10th anniversary of Sino-Swiss Joint Program. In Chinese culture, "Ten" means good, representing the number of perfection. In the future, the cooperation between the two universities will be closer, higher quality and more extensive, from the cooperation of individual majors based on higher vocational colleges to the cooperation of professional fields at the level of the whole school.
President Jurg Kessler reviewed the 10-year history of the Sino-Swiss Joint Program. Over the past decade, SUES and FHGR have continued to deepen understanding and mutual trust in cooperation, adhere to communication and friendly consultation, and work hard towards the common goal of the two sides.
Prof. Zheng Shubin, Andreas Deuber and Thuc Lan Tran introduced in detail the relevant situation of the 2023 Sino-Swiss Joint Program from the aspects of Student, Budget, Curriculum, Faculty Exchange, Teaching quality management, etc., and reached a number of consensuses at the meeting.
At the meeting, both parties indicated that they would take the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of the cooperation in Sino-Swiss Joint Program to further deepen and pragmatic cooperation in a wider range of fields and promote the Sino-Swiss cooperative education to a new level.
